Post Tenure Review
Post-Tenure Review
The Post – Tenure Review is a procedure designed to identify the opportunities for academic staff development that are mutually beneficial for both the staff member and College ESLG.
The review procedure aims to help the tenured academic staff in enhancing their performance goals in relation to their academic career goals and departmental and institutional needs at ESLG.
The review investigates the resources and support that the academic staff members need in their professional development. The purpose of the review is to identify, recognize, reward, and enhance the professional development of the tenured faculty.
In addition to performance appraisal, each member of staff shall undertake a brief annual self-appraisal and a detailed self-appraisal of his/her own professional development every five years.
The brief annual self-appraisal is not subject to any further review, however the detailed post-tenure self-appraisal shall be subject to review by Post-Tenure Review Commission, which is composed of the following members: One staff member of the Faculty or department where the tenured staff works, one student representative, and one peer reviewer chosen by the academic staff member.
The Post-Tenure Review should have at least satisfactory performance in three categories: teaching, scholarly activities, and contribution to the profession.
